About Laura

Laura is a highly accomplished individual who has made significant contributions to the Willmar Area Women’s Fund and other organizations. She obtained her BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and a minor in Leadership studies from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. Laura also lived in London and traveled around Europe for 5 months, during which she studied and worked abroad.

Laura has worked at Life-Science Innovations for over 4 years, where she has transitioned into talent acquisition and partnered with several organizations within their family of companies on their recruiting needs. Laura lives on a farm just north of Willmar with her husband, RJ, and their 1.5-year-old daughter, Mabel. They are active in cattle, turkeys, and crops. Laura enjoys gathering with family and friends, traveling, and raising her daughter. She especially enjoys Minnesota summers and being out on the lake.

Involvement with the Willmar Area Women’s Fund

Laura joined the Willmar Area Women’s Fund (WAWF) in June 2020 and currently leads the Messaging/Marketing Task team. She was motivated to get involved in a group that makes a positive impact on the community upon returning to the Willmar area. Since joining, she has witnessed the significant results that can be made by leveraging the power of collective giving in broadening awareness, supporting trauma-informed care training and critical operational needs that improve the community. Laura’s leadership with the Messaging/Marketing Task team has helped the organization’s reach to more people and raise awareness about this mission.

Other Organizations Laura Supports

In addition to the Women’s Fund, Laura is involved in other organizations such as Refuge Church, where she is active in their nursery and small groups, and Living Hope church, where she was a youth leader for junior high girls. Laura is also involved in neXt, a group for young professionals. Laura has also been active with Feed my Starving Children, Operation Christmas Child, Youth for Christ, and Hope Pregnancy.

Why Laura is committed to WAWF

Laura is committed to the Willmar Area Women’s Fund because she believes in the power of women to make a difference in their community. Laura is passionate about advocating for and empowering vulnerable adults and children. She is inspired to see the Willmar Area Community and the Willmar Area Women’s Fund rallying around this mission, and she is proud to be a part of an organization that is dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of those facing challenges in the Kandiyohi County area. WAWF is thrilled to have Laura as a member of the Steering Committee and appreciates her dedication and passion for the community.
